Judy Garland

Judy Garland sang the following patriotic songs on her television show in 1963 and 1964. We present them here in hopes that they will comfort those affected by the tragic events suffered on September 11th, 2001, lift the spirits of Americans everywhere, and instill a sense of pride in our great land. The proceeds of this release will be donated to the American Red Cross in its efforts to heal the country.

The Battle Hymn Of The Republic
Soon after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, Judy sang this song to commemorate his death at the close of her show on December 13th, 1963. Cheers echoed and a standing ovation followed. This performance remains one of the defining moments of Garland's career and of television history.

Smile
This masterpiece, penned by famed film actor and director Charlie Chaplin, is an outstanding example of the unique and touching songs Judy chose to perform. Taped near the end of show Number 12 on November 1st, 1963, "Smile" offers a theme of strength in the midst of adversity, and is one of Garland's finest performances.

Over The Rainbow
This is Judy's theme song and the one most linked to her name. It was recently announced as the Top Recording of the last century, but this is one of only three times she sang her legendary song on television.

America The Beautiful
Judy performed this national anthem as an encore for her "Americana" concert show, Number 20, on January 24th 1964. Performed in her famous "Tramp" costume, Judy proves why she was and will always be one of America's most beloved singers.
