Young speed freak Ross (Jason Schwartzman) is hooked but good and in search of the ultimate methamphetamine high. His dealer, Spider (John Leguizamo), knows the source of the best drugs – that made by a guy simply known as The Cook (Mickey Rourke). Ross meets Nikki (Brittany Murphy), his stripper girlfriend, and is intrigued by her based only on the fact that his girlfriend recently dumped him. In pursuit of the pinnacle of drug experiences, each of the protagonists meet other crazy speed freaks, including Cookie (Mena Suvari). Their lives and addictions intertwine and collide in a potentially dangerous series of events of the course of a few days.
