A minor thief with a few talents, Buster (Phil Collins) is apt to break into stores just to steal a mannequin if he wants the suit that it is wearing. If his baby needs anything, Buster goes to the drugstore late at night to get whatever he wants. He is very charming and likeable but does not want to hold down a regular job. His wife, June (Julie Walters), is weary of his thievery and wants their own place to live in instead of renting. Buster decides to rob a train, but he loses his anonymity and ends up being a wanted man after the crime is committed. He might not ever see his family again as a result.
